What does a Children’s Contact Service do?
Family separation can be a challenging experience for parents and other family members, leaving them feeling hurt, angry, anxious and afraid. This can make it difficult for parents to manage contact arrangements for children.
Most importantly, it can be a difficult period for the child who may be impacted by the family separation. This often emotional dynamic between family members can make it difficult for parents to manage contact arrangements for children.
Children have the right to safe and meaningful relationships. In many cases, contact arrangements in the form of supervised visits may be the best option to ensure the child is able to spend time with both parents and to minimise stress and conflict.
The Better Place Australia Children’s Contact Service provides a safe, neutral and child-focused environment for supervised visits and changeovers to occur, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for the child to establish a relationship with their carers, family members and parents.
Parents and extended family involved do not need to make direct contact with one another.
