Separated parents want to access supervised contact centres Melbourne that are safe for children. Better Place Australia Children’s Contact Services (CCS) prioritises your child’s safety and well-being. Our child-focused approach ensures our service support is always informed by acting in the child’s best interest.
Andrew, Program Manager for CCS, says, “As part of the process, we assess whether your application is suitable for our Children’s Contact Service in Narre Warren and Sale. We have the legal obligation to decline an application if through the assessment and / or service provision process, the staff consider that the arrangement may pose an unacceptable risk to the children, staff or other service users.”
A nurturing space
At Better Place Australia supervised contact centres Melbourne and Gippsland, we have a team of experienced Children’s Contact Service workers who are dedicated to creating a nurturing space for both parents and children.
One of our primary goals is to foster positive relationships between the visiting parent and the child. We believe that maintaining these connections is vital for the child’s emotional health and development. Our team works diligently to support these interactions, ensuring they are beneficial for both the child and the parent.
How the process starts
Our process starts with you, or your legal representative asking for an application form to use our service. Once we receive the applications from both parents, we invite each of you to separate intake interviews to get a better understanding of your situation. At this intake interview, we assess whether your application is suitable for our service.
If we decide that your application is suitable, we will invite the child or children to attend a “child-readiness” visit to our service to familiarise them to the space and to meet the contact workers. This provides an opportunity to develop rapport with the children and to acquaint themselves with the service. After the child-readiness visit has taken place, we look to book in the first visit depending on our availability.
